Collaboration Engineer

Purpose and scope

This role will be responsible for supporting multiple collaboration and productivity tools and services including but not limited to Cisco Collaboration, WebEx Calling and Microsoft Teams Calling. The team member will be expected to interact with customers, peers, vendors, and partners to complete projects on time and resolve customer issues as per contracted SLAs. The engineer will be responsible for call routing, scripting, configuration and troubleshooting for multiple customer sites.


  • Support, manage and execute deployment or upgrades for various.
  • Collaboration solutions including Audio/Video conferencing rooms, Enterprise Telephony System, Contact Center Services. This will include Cisco Collaboration infrastructure and others.
  • Session Border Controllers / Cisco Voice gateway / router configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Work with vendors for SIP trunk and gateway configuration and activations.
  • Gather requirements for business processes and determine ways to optimize/improve the customers collaboration tools.
  • Work with customers to define call flows, create scripts and implement.
  • Provide training to customers for use, administrations, and maintenance.
  • Handle trouble tickets by phone or email to resolve customer voice issues to resolution in a timely manner.

Preferred qualifications

One or more of the following:

  • Cisco CCNP Voice
  • Microsoft Teams Voice Engineer

Job requirements

Must be proficient in the support and configuration of:

  • Cisco Unified Communications Manage
  • Cisco Unity Connection
  • Cisco CUBE and Voice Gateways (MGCP, SIP, etc.)
  • Router and switch based QoS
  • WebEx Cloud Calling
  • MSFT Teams for Voice
  • Working knowledge of Jabber, Presence and WebEx, MRA, CER is highly desired.
  • Voice and Video Technologies such as WebEx Calling, Microsoft Teams & Zoom
  • Must possess excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be reliable and have ability to work as part of a team.
  • This position will participate in an on-call schedule, providing after hours support as necessary.
