Purpose and scope

The SDN Engineer would be responsible for architecting enterprise networks and building operational models with Software-Defined Networking strategies. The team member will be responsible for delivery of on-premise solutions with campus-based technologies from Cisco as well as cloud focused SDN from Microsoft, Amazon, Google and VMware. The engineer will also be responsible for mentoring junior Engineers and Support Technicians.

Responsibilities

  • Drive Professional Service projects for the deployment of software-defined networking solutions. These solutions consist of Campus networking, WAN, Data Center and Cloud.
  • Provide network hardware/software support and create/maintain documentation and diagrams for multiple clients. 
  • Implementation and Support of Cisco networking hardware, switches (Multi-Layer, Data Center/ Access/Core/ Distribution) firewalls, routers, Software defined Access – SDA, SDWAN, ISE/DNAC
  • Network management and network engineering support for Software Defined Networks and other technologies
  • Wired and wireless, remote access solutions, and technology pilots and office network Build out and modifications.
  • Proactively review customers' infrastructure and provide recommendations based on findings.
  • Utilize monitoring, performance analysis, network management, software to troubleshoot and isolate problems.
  • Guide other engineers in resolving challenges and ensuring customer success

Preferred qualifications

One or more of the following:

  • Cisco CCIE or CCNP Routing and Switching
  • VMware VCDX-NV or VCAP-NV
  • Equivalent Experience

Experience

Possess significant experience as a network engineer with 2+ years of Software-Defined networking experience with one or more of the following products:

  • Cisco Software-Defined Access (SD Access)
  • Cisco, Meraki and VMware SD-WAN
  • VMware NSX
  • Azure , AWS or Google Cloud SDN

Job requirements

  • Should have extensive experience with implementations of solutions involving large data centers/inter-office routing and switching.
  • Working knowledge of VXLAN, BGP, GENEVE
  • Cisco Enterprise Networking (routing and switching)
  • Integration with Cisco and Palo Alto Firewall Platforms
  • Great personality, team-building attitude with strong troubleshooting, verbal and written skills.
  • Ability to multi-task between multiple projects and escalated issues.
